Costco is recalling "Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze" meals due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall was initiated after an ingredient supplier, Griffith Foods Inc., alerted Costco to the risk. These meals were sold at Costco locations across 26 states and two territories between March 2 and March 13, 2026.
The affected products have sell-by dates ranging from March 5 to March 16, 2026. Costco is urging customers who purchased these meals not to consume them. Instead, they should return the product to their local Costco for a complete refund. The company emphasized the risk of serious, potentially fatal infections, particularly for vulnerable groups.
Salmonella infections can cause severe symptoms like diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. While most cases are not fatal, young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals are at higher risk. As of March 15, 2026, no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. Customers are advised to remain vigilant and check sell-by dates on prepared meals.
