- Four ASD tugs ordered by Ocean Sparkle, an Adani Group company.
- The order is valued between ₹100 crore and ₹250 crore.
- Tug deliveries are scheduled from November 2028 to June 2029.

Cochin Shipyard Ltd's wholly owned subsidiary, Udupi Cochin Shipyard Ltd, has announced a significant new order from Ocean Sparkle, a company within the Adani Group. The contract involves the construction of four Azimuthing Stern Drive (ASD) tugs, each possessing a 70-tonne bollard pull power. This order falls into the "Notable" category, signifying a value between ₹100 crore and ₹250 crore for the shipyard.
The newly ordered tugs will be built adhering to the Approved Standard Tug Design and Specifications (ASTDS) mandated by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways. Production is scheduled, with deliveries expected to begin in November 2028 and conclude by June 2029, indicating a phased delivery approach over several months. This contract does not involve any related-party transactions, and the promoters of Cochin Shipyard have no interest in the awarding entity.
This development follows Cochin Shipyard's recent emergence as the lowest bidder for a substantial ₹5,000 crore Indian Navy contract to build five Next Generation Survey Vessels. While that contract award is pending final formalities, it underscores the company's growing capabilities and market position in the shipbuilding sector.
