CleanSpark's Texas Grid Capacity Gets Conditional Nod
10 Sep
Summary
- ERCOT conditionally approved 885 MW for CleanSpark's Texas sites.
- Classifications advance projects but do not authorize energization.
- Georgia data center lease secures $6.6 billion in contracted revenue.

CleanSpark announced that ERCOT has conditionally classified 885 MW of capacity for its two Texas sites under the Batch Zero process. This includes 585 MW designated as baseload capacity and 300 MW as studied load. The baseload capacity is spread across Sealy (285 MW) and Brazoria (300 MW), with the studied load designated for a planned expansion at Brazoria.
These classifications represent significant progress in the interconnection review for CleanSpark's Texas portfolio, which spans 718 acres and offers up to 885 MW of secured and planned capacity. However, ERCOT's conditional approval necessitates further steps, including a verification audit for both categories and a system-wide allocation study for studied-load projects.
Separately, CleanSpark is continuing development at its Sandersville, Georgia, data center. A 20-year lease agreement with an investment-grade global technology company has been secured for 175 MW of critical IT load. This lease is projected to generate approximately $6.6 billion in contracted revenue during its initial term, with deliveries anticipated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2027.
