13 May
Summary
- Net profit declined 54.6% to Rs 554.6 crore in Q4 FY26.
- Revenue from operations fell 2.8% to Rs 6,541.2 crore.
- Company projects 18.5%-20% EBITDA margins for FY27.

Cipla's net profit experienced a substantial 54.6% year-on-year decline in the fourth quarter of FY26, settling at Rs 554.6 crore. Revenue from operations also decreased by 2.8% to Rs 6,541.2 crore during the same period.
The company's management attributed this downturn to factors including the absence of high-margin products like Lenalidomide and Landreotide, alongside increased research and development expenditures. Higher operating costs from scaling up US manufacturing facilities and initial geopolitical impacts from West Asia also contributed.
For the full fiscal year 2026, net profit dropped by 26% to Rs 3,879 crore, though annual revenue reached a record Rs 28,163 crore, a 2% increase. Looking ahead, Cipla anticipates FY27 EBITDA margins between 18.5% and 20%, driven by new launches, and aims for its US business run-rate to reach $1 billion by the end of FY27.
Planned US launches include four respiratory products and one major peptide in FY27, with the Fall River facility ramping up supplies. Cipla also secured approval for its first AB-rated generic Ventolin from its US site, expected for launch soon. The company is managing geopolitical risks through inventory and diversified sourcing but warns of potential cost increases if disruptions prolong.
Cipla continues its long-term focus on biosimilars and complex generics, planning one to two annual biosimilar additions over the next five to six years. Selective acquisitions and partnerships in the US and Europe are being considered to enhance its differentiated portfolio. The India business grew 15% in Q4, while North America revenue declined 26% and emerging markets/Europe saw a 9% drop.
