Chinese health authorities have finalized another round of large-scale medical supply purchases, a strategic move designed to decrease expenses for healthcare facilities and individuals across the nation. The National Healthcare Security Administration announced the successful conclusion of its sixth national bulk procurement program for high-value medical consumables.
This latest initiative focused on 12 distinct types of devices, such as drug-coated balloons and urological intervention products. In total, 440 products from 202 manufacturers were chosen, ensuring that major suppliers relied upon by hospitals are included to guarantee a stable and varied supply.
The government's centralized procurement strategy has now extended to cover 142 types of medical consumables within nine major categories. Patients are projected to benefit from these reduced prices by approximately May 2026, continuing China's commitment to making healthcare services more accessible and affordable.
