- It will create over 1,200 jobs and boost economy by £75 million annually.

Construction has officially begun on Center Parcs' new £450 million village in Scotland, named Center Parcs Scottish Borders. First Minister John Swinney marked the occasion by planting the first trees on the site, located between Hawick and Selkirk. This will be the company's first new village since 2019 and is slated to open in summer 2029.
The resort will feature up to 700 lodges and apartments, the signature Subtropical Swimming Paradise, a Village Centre with dining and retail, and an Aqua Sana Forest Spa. New lochs will be created for water sports, alongside a Nature and Heritage Centre promoting biodiversity with wildflower meadows and nature trails.
This project is unique as Center Parcs is creating a forest from scratch, planting hundreds of thousands of trees. Over 30 species, including Scots pine and silver birch, are being planted. The Scottish Government is providing up to £30 million for essential infrastructure. The village is projected to create over 1,200 jobs, with 30% targeted at young people aged 16-24, and contribute £75 million annually to the Scottish Borders economy.
