Summary
- CEAT's Chennai plant expansion targets advanced tire production.
- Facility produces European-standard and US-market specialized tires.
- Recent investment in a new truck tire line totals ₹670 crore.

The CEAT manufacturing facility in Chennai is set to significantly increase its production of advanced and premium tires. This expansion aims to serve customers in India and bolster exports to major international markets, including Europe and North America.
The plant, already one of India's largest single-site facilities for passenger car and utility vehicle tires, produces specialized products like the 4SeasonDrive+ all-season tire and the CrossDrive RT rugged-terrain tire.
This strategic enhancement follows a recent ₹670 crore investment in September 2024 for a new Truck Bus Radial (TBR) production line. The expanded capabilities allow for manufacturing seven advanced TBR sizes and scaling up light truck steel radial tire production.
CEAT's Managing Director and CEO highlighted the Chennai plant's crucial role in the company's growth, enabling the production of sophisticated products across various vehicle segments for distinct market requirements.
