23 Apr
Summary

- The agreement is to unite them in potential debt deal talks.
- Company's earnings fell by double digits in its last quarter.

Creditors holding various debts with CDK Global have established a cooperation agreement. This pact aims to present a unified front should the software company pursue negotiations regarding a potential debt deal. The agreement is accessible to all lenders, with a majority group having already committed.
This coordinated effort highlights a growing trend where debt holders proactively seek to protect their investments from unfavorable debt arrangements. The privately held company, which supplies software solutions to automotive dealerships, recently concluded a difficult fourth quarter. During this period, its earnings saw a decline exceeding ten percent, reporting approximately $127 million in pro forma earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.
CDK Global is among numerous companies facing market pressures attributed to investor concerns about artificial intelligence potentially disrupting software firms. These apprehensions have negatively affected the valuation of assets linked to such companies and their financial backers. Specifically, CDK's first-lien term loan, valued at nearly $4 billion and due in 2029, was trading around 61.2 cents on the dollar recently, a notable decrease from its mid-January price of 83.75 cents.
