Canada Immigration Fees Set to Rise Soon
30 Mar
Summary
- Citizenship fees increase March 31, 2026.
- PR application costs rise by April 30, 2026.
- Fee hikes are inflation-linked, not policy changes.
Canada is set to implement fee increases for permanent residence (PR) and citizenship applications, with changes commencing March 31, 2026, for citizenship and April 30, 2026, for PR.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced these revisions, linking them to inflation and increased service delivery costs. The right of citizenship fee for adults will rise from $119.75 to $123, while processing fees remain unchanged.
Permanent residence fees will also experience incremental adjustments across most streams. For instance, the right of permanent residence fee will go from $575 to $600, and other categories like Provincial Nominee Program and Business Class will see similar modest increases.
Applications submitted before the respective effective dates will be processed at current rates. These adjustments, ranging from approximately 2.7% to 5%, are designed to keep pace with administrative expenses and do not signify a policy shift or changes to immigration targets.
