BYD Sets Records, Launches New EVs in PH

BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, is making a significant presence at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026, displaying its comprehensive New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup. The exhibit includes Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) like the BYD Seagull and Atto 3, alongside plug-in hybrid models. Two new models, the BYD Atto 2 EV and BYD Sealion 7, were presented as previews before their official launch later this year.

The Atto 2 EV is described as a smart, urban electric crossover designed for modern Filipino families, balancing utility and style. The Sealion 7, a premium electric SUV, boasts a performance-oriented design with an All-Wheel Drive system, a luxurious interior, and advanced driver-assistance systems. Reservations for these models are open with a P50,000 fee.

During MIAS, BYD highlighted its commitment to an electrified Philippines by showcasing its charging infrastructure and nationwide support services through ACMobility. This includes the expanding Philippine EV Spine network of over 160 charging locations. The brand also announced the culmination of its 'Drive Electric. Love Pinas.' campaign, which saw a 20-vehicle convoy travel across the country, supported by BYD's dealer network and charging infrastructure.

This nationwide journey led to BYD vehicles setting two Guinness World Records: one for the most cities visited in a continuous journey by an EV, and another for a PHEV. The BYD eMAX 7 and BYD Shark 6 DMO visited 102 cities, proving the reliability of BYD's electric technology. Additionally, BYD introduced Alden Richards as its new brand ambassador, aiming to inspire Filipinos to adopt sustainable mobility.

MIAS attendees can explore the full BYD lineup and take advantage of exclusive discounts of up to P220,000 on select models, along with special financing offers. Branded merchandise is also available. The event runs from April 9 to 12 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
