Broadcom's AI Boom: Stock Poised for 149% Surge

Artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure spending is experiencing a significant upswing, with hyperscalers, AI firms, and cloud specialists set to increase investments. Nvidia projects that the top five hyperscalers' capital expenditures could reach $800 billion in 2026 and potentially $1.3 trillion in 2027, with overall AI capital expenditure possibly reaching $3 trillion to $4 trillion by 2030.

Broadcom, a key player in AI data centers with its ASICs and networking components, has reported exceptional growth. In fiscal 2026's third quarter, revenue surged 86% year-over-year to $29.6 billion, fueled by custom AI chips and networking processors. The company's AI chip revenue alone jumped 221% year-over-year to $16.7 billion.

Looking ahead, Broadcom anticipates a 93% increase in overall revenue for fiscal Q4, reaching $34.8 billion. Its AI revenue is on track to hit $57.6 billion this fiscal year, a 186% increase from the previous year. Management forecasts AI revenue to double to $115 billion in fiscal 2027 and reach $230 billion by fiscal 2028, with secured supply chains for this outlook.

Despite reporting strong financials, Broadcom's stock has underperformed the semiconductor sector. However, its projected earnings growth and current valuation suggest a significant upside potential. Broadcom estimates exceeding $30.00 in earnings per share (EPS) by fiscal 2028. Based on these projections, the stock could reach $900 in just over two years, representing a potential 149% increase from current levels.
