A significant revitalization effort is underway in downtown Brandon with the commencement of the Eddy Residences project. This $19.2 million development will introduce 72 market-rate rental apartments across three buildings along Pacific Avenue. The project broke ground recently and is slated for completion by December 2027.
The initiative is a collaborative effort led by Westman Premier Homes, in partnership with Sneath Keller Developments and the Keller Group. It receives substantial support from the City of Brandon and the federal Housing Accelerator Fund, which provides approximately $936,000 in construction milestone payments and offsets development charges and property taxes.
Named in homage to the historic Prince Edward Hotel, the Eddy Residences are envisioned by developers to become a central hub for downtown. This large-scale residential development is expected to invigorate the area by increasing foot traffic, supporting local businesses, and enhancing overall community vibrancy and safety.
City officials and the Brandon Downtown BIZ expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its role in adapting to evolving urban needs and reimagining the future of Brandon's downtown core. Further housing announcements addressing seniors and supportive housing are anticipated.
