Boston Pizza Scores Record Sales Amidst World Cup Buzz
14 Aug
Summary
- Boston Pizza achieved record franchise sales in Q2 2026.
- Promotional activities and World Cup momentum boosted sales.
- Same-restaurant sales grew for the seventh consecutive quarter.

Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund reported record franchise sales for the second quarter of 2026, with the royalty pool generating C$256.5 million. This represents a 1.9% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Year-to-date franchise sales climbed to C$494.9 million, marking a 2.5% rise.
Same-restaurant sales saw a healthy increase of 2.3% in the second quarter and 2.7% for the first half of the year. President Jordan Holm attributed this success to strong guest engagement, particularly during the FIFA World Cup, and effective promotional strategies. These included a playoff promotion with menu innovations and a national advertising campaign.
The company also leveraged FIFA World Cup-related campaigns in June and a summer feature menu with a concert-prize giveaway. Holm noted that while guest traffic has been a key driver, menu pricing played a more significant role in the second quarter's same-restaurant sales growth, reflecting typical pricing adjustments.
