Boeing Eyes Indian Market for Dreamliner Surge

Boeing anticipates a surge in orders for its Dreamliner aircraft within the Indian market, a region exhibiting substantial growth potential. Company executive Salil Gupte highlighted India's industrialization goals in aerospace and expressed confidence in overcoming short-term challenges, such as tariff issues between India and the United States.
Air India, a major operator of the Dreamliner in India, has a fleet of 33 such aircraft. The airline's first custom-made Dreamliner post-privatization was scheduled to commence commercial operations on February 1. IndiGo also operates Dreamliners leased from Norse Atlantic Airways.
Gupte acknowledged 2025 as a challenging year for Boeing, referencing the Air India AI171 accident investigation. He assured that the victims' families remain foremost in their thoughts and that the company awaits the Indian Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau's report.
