The total value of these donated shares amounts to over $1.3 billion. The donations were credited to the foundations on Monday, November 10, 2025. The recipients include the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and the NoVo Foundation.
These foundations have been established to support various philanthropic initiatives. The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation provides scholarships to college students in Nebraska, the Sherwood Foundation focuses on improving infrastructure and livelihoods in the state, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation works to address global issues like food security and human trafficking, and the NoVo Foundation empowers women and girls around the world.
With this generous parting gift, Buffett, known as the "Oracle of Omaha," is ensuring that his legacy of giving back to the community will continue long after his retirement.
