BigBear.ai announced a strategic partnership with C Speed, a radar technology specialist, last week. This collaboration integrates BigBear's ConductorOS AI platform with C Speed's LightWave Radar system, aiming to create autonomous threat detection capabilities for military and border security applications. The fusion enables real-time AI-driven threat detection at the sensor level, addressing critical national security needs.
The combined solution leverages C Speed's existing radar deployments within the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense. This strategic move by BigBear.ai focuses on embedding AI directly into defense hardware, shifting from standalone software solutions to create more enduring customer relationships and recurring revenue streams within the government contracting sector.
In the third quarter of 2025, BigBear.ai reported revenue of $33.1 million, a decrease from the previous year, attributed to lower volume on Army programs. Gross margins narrowed, and the company posted an adjusted EBITDA loss of $9.4 million due to increased operating expenses, including labor costs and strategic investments. Despite operational challenges, a significant gain from remeasuring convertible notes resulted in a net income of $2.5 million for the quarter.
