11 Sep
Summary
- Seven major stations in Bhopal Division adopt mechanized cleaning.
- Advanced equipment includes battery-operated machines and jet washers.
- Stations now feature four-category waste bins for proper segregation.
The Bhopal Division of West Central Railway is implementing a comprehensive mechanized cleaning program across seven key stations: Narmadapuram, Guna, Harda, Ganjbasoda, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, and Sant Hirdaram Nagar. This initiative transitions these stations from manual cleaning contracts to outcome-based mechanized systems.
The upgrade involves deploying modern cleaning technology, including battery-operated machines, vacuum cleaners, jet pressure washers, and single-disc scrubber-polishers. These advanced tools are designed for efficient and thorough cleaning of platforms, waiting halls, foot-over bridges, and administrative areas, reducing cleaning time while enhancing quality.
In addition to enhanced surface cleanliness, the railway administration is prioritizing systematic waste management. Stations are now equipped with four-category waste segregation bins for wet, dry, sanitary, and electronic waste, promoting proper disposal and facilitating regular inspections. This approach aims to maintain consistently clean and organized premises.
Passengers are encouraged to cooperate with the new system by utilizing designated dustbins. Those found littering may face penalties under the Jan Vishwas Act, highlighting a shared responsibility for maintaining public spaces. This mechanized approach signifies a substantial improvement over traditional manual cleaning methods.
By integrating modern machinery with structured waste management protocols, the Bhopal Division intends to establish new benchmarks for railway station hygiene. This commitment underscores their dedication to passenger safety, convenience, and environmental responsibility throughout the division.
