Official figures revealed that 189,000 hotel beds were sold, marking a nearly 4% rise from the 182,000 recorded in August 2025. This positive trend also saw room occupancy rates climb by two percentage points year-on-year, reaching 85% from 83%.
The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, held in Belfast from August 2 to 9, was a significant event as it was the first time the festival took place in the city. Beyond hotels, visitors also utilized self-catering and student accommodations, as well as a dedicated campsite, indicating a comprehensive boost to local tourism infrastructure.
On a broader scale, the entire Northern Ireland region reported a substantial increase in hotel bed sales. Just under 470,000 beds were sold in August, a 5% increase compared to the 447,000 sold in August 2025, underscoring the event's positive economic impact.
