B.C. Health Workers Secure New 4-Year Deal

A tentative four-year agreement has been reached between the Facilities Bargaining Association and health employers in British Columbia, impacting more than 67,000 health-care workers. This new deal promises a three percent general wage increase for members in each of the four years of the contract.
The agreement also introduces enhancements for certain shift premiums, leaves, and allowances. Significantly, it expands occupational safety measures and includes new supports for Indigenous workers, alongside improved diversity and work-life balance initiatives.
This new deal aims to better attract and retain front-line health care staff. The wage increases mirror those recently ratified by the BC General Employees' Union. Union members will have the opportunity to vote on the tentative agreement from December 15 to 19.
