Bayer AG and ADM are extending their collaborative efforts in Maharashtra by three years, aiming to bolster soybean farmers through a significantly expanded program. This partnership, initially launched in June 2022, is set to quadruple its reach, targeting 100,000 growers.
The initiative's coverage will dramatically increase from 35,000 hectares to 200,000 hectares, encompassing seven districts within Maharashtra. This includes the addition of Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli, and Solapur to the previously covered areas of Latur, Dharashiv, and Beed.
Central to this collaboration is the adoption of sustainable farming practices under the ProTerra Foundation framework. Farmers will receive comprehensive training on production management, biodiversity protection, crop documentation, and post-harvest techniques, fostering enhanced economic resilience.
