AuMEGA drills new targets in Newfoundland

AuMEGA Metals Ltd commenced diamond drilling in Newfoundland and Labrador on July 28, 2026, targeting the Isle aux Morts Granite and Cape Ray West areas. This initiative represents the initial phase of the company's 2026 drilling program, investigating several high-priority exploration targets along the Cape Ray Shear Zone. These areas have not undergone any previous drilling, offering a unique opportunity for discovery.

The exploration strategy for these new targets combines geological mapping, surface geochemistry, geophysical surveys, and structural interpretation. The Isle aux Morts Granite, a significant geological feature, and the Cape Ray West area, situated within the broader Cape Ray Shear Zone, have shown promising geological, geochemical, and geophysical indicators. Initial drilling aims to define the subsurface geology and identify any presence of alteration or mineralization.

Managing Director and CEO Sam Pazuki highlighted this commencement as a key milestone for AuMEGA's 2026 exploration strategy, emphasizing the development of a robust pipeline of drill targets over the past two years. The early-stage targets are supported by strong geological reasoning and are located in a highly prospective structural setting.

Following the completion of drilling at Isle aux Morts Granite and Cape Ray West, AuMEGA plans to relocate the drill rig to Bunker Hill later in the northern summer, awaiting assay results from the initial program. This comprehensive campaign is part of AuMEGA's systematic approach to evaluating its extensive landholdings along the Cape Ray Shear Zone, aiming for a major new discovery in Newfoundland.
