Ather Energy has reported a substantial financial turnaround in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27). The company's consolidated net loss significantly decreased by 71%, reaching Rs 51 crore compared to Rs 178 crore in the same quarter last year. This improvement coincides with a robust 87.2% year-on-year increase in consolidated total income, which climbed to Rs 1,260 crore for the June 2026 quarter.
This financial growth is attributed to strong demand and increasing contributions from non-vehicle revenue sources, including software subscriptions, charging, and accessories. Notably, Ather Energy achieved a positive consolidated EBITDA of Rs 9 crore in Q1 FY27, a marked improvement from a loss of Rs 106 crore in the prior year's quarter. The company delivered 83,173 units, an 80.5% rise year-on-year, indicating strong market traction.
Ather's CEO, Tarun Mehta, expressed confidence in the expanding market, citing policy support and shifting consumer sentiment. The company is preparing for its next growth phase with a new product on the EL platform and the scale-up of its new factory at AURIC. This facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar is set to begin production in Q3 FY27, with an initial capacity of 500,000 units annually. Upon full completion of the AURIC site, Ather's total production capacity will reach 1.42 million electric two-wheelers.
Industry-wide, electric vehicle registrations saw a 68% year-on-year increase in June 2026, with EV penetration surpassing 10% for the first time. Ather's performance aligns with this broader positive trend in the electric mobility sector.
