AMC Networks CEO Kristin Dolan's Contract Extended Amid Industry Turmoil

As of October 10th, 2025, AMC Networks has extended the contract of its CEO, Kristin Dolan, through 2028. This comes at a time of significant upheaval for the media company, which has been grappling with the ongoing pressures of cord-cutting and the shift towards streaming platforms.

Dolan, who took over the top job earlier this year, will now be paid a base salary of $2 million, rising to $2.1 million in 2026, with additional bonuses and stock awards. The company's shares have fallen 24% so far in 2025, closing at $7.52 on Friday, as its linear networks like AMC, IFC, and We TV have struggled to maintain viewership.

Amidst this industry-wide turmoil, Netflix Co-Chief Greg Peters has dismissed the likelihood of a potential acquisition bid for AMC Networks, stating that "Big Media Mergers don't have a great track record." This sentiment reflects the broader challenges facing the media landscape, as companies navigate the transition to digital and streaming-centric business models.

Despite the headwinds, AMC Networks has been working to diversify its portfolio, expanding its collection of subscription streaming outlets, including Shudder, AMC+, and Acorn TV, as well as launching several dozen FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channels.
