Summary
- Flyover construction at Ambedkar Chowk set to proceed with bids by Feb 15.
- A 950-meter, four-lane bidirectional flyover will be built for Rs 37 crore.
- Project completion is estimated to take two years after construction begins.

GMDA is set to advance the Ambedkar Chowk flyover project, with bids expected to be invited by February 15, 2026, following the finalization of its design. This critical infrastructure development targets a heavily congested intersection connecting multiple sectors and residential areas.
The new structure will be a 950-meter-long, four-lane bidirectional flyover, a Rs 37 crore investment aimed at alleviating daily traffic bottlenecks. Daily peak hour traffic at the junction averages 6,100 passenger car units, impacting commuters from prominent societies like Ardee City and Mayfield Garden.
Administrative approval for the project was granted in July 2024, and construction is anticipated to commence soon. The completion timeline is estimated at two years. Authorities plan a comprehensive traffic management strategy during construction to minimize commuter inconvenience, including barricading and regulated movement.
