Ace investor Akash Bhanshali has made a significant Rs 800 crore investment, spanning both wind energy generation and grid infrastructure. His strategy focuses on the foundational elements of India's energy transition, a move largely overlooked by retail investors. Bhanshali, known for his concentrated, long-term investment philosophy, holds stakes in a wind turbine generator manufacturer and a company providing advanced electrical network systems.
One of Bhanshali's key holdings is Inox Wind Ltd., a fully integrated wind energy player. He entered this position around mid-2025, acquiring 1.8% stake worth Rs 255 crore after the stock experienced a significant downturn. Inox Wind has demonstrated a strong turnaround, with sales jumping significantly and operating profits shifting from a loss in FY21 to a profit by FY26.
The other significant investment is in Schneider Electric Infrastructure, a manufacturer of heavy electrical equipment essential for integrating renewable energy into the grid. Bhanshali initially accumulated this stock in March 2018 and currently holds about 2% worth Rs 557 crore. While he has been trimming this position recently, the company shows strong financial growth, with EBITDA growing by 42% and net profits turning positive.
Bhanshali's dual approach to Inox Wind (a turnaround play) and Schneider Electric Infrastructure (a premium-priced compounder) highlights his strategy of betting on both ends of the energy shift. His holdings in these companies, alongside a substantial stake in Gujarat Fluorochemicals, underscore his commitment to India's evolving energy landscape.
