Air NZ Eyes India Flights Amid FTA Boost

Ravishankar, who has roots in Bengaluru, India, highlighted the FTA's importance for both economic and social ties. Air New Zealand currently operates a codeshare agreement with Air India on 16 routes, facilitating passenger travel between the countries via hubs like Singapore and Australia.
Both airlines are also jointly exploring the potential for a direct service between India and New Zealand, aiming for a possible launch by the end of 2028, contingent on new aircraft deliveries and regulatory approvals. This move signifies a strengthening of the relationship, building on existing capacity increases and improved access via Singapore.
