Air India's Bold Plan: 50-60 Aircraft Deliveries Yearly On Track

The Air India Group anticipates receiving between 50 and 60 new aircraft annually for the next seven to eight years. This influx of aircraft is crucial for the airline's ongoing transformation program, which continues to progress despite significant global headwinds. Supply chain constraints and geopolitical issues have impacted delivery schedules, but the airline is managing these challenges.

Fleet modernization and investments in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities are proceeding as planned. Air India aims to retrofit its wide-body aircraft, including Dreamliners and Boeing 777s, over the next two to three years. The airline is also expecting deliveries of new Boeing MAX 8 and MAX 10 aircraft, with the latter awaiting certification.

Network restoration is actively underway. Middle East routes have already seen a 90% recovery, and services to Europe and the US are being reinstated. Air India is investing in enhancing customer experience through improved service standards for both crew and airport staff, focusing on building robust systems and capabilities.

Air India's transformation plan, initiated after its acquisition by Tata Group in January 2022, has navigated numerous unforeseen challenges. The airline is committed to delivering a safe and reliable customer experience, even as it manages a large order book of nearly 600 aircraft, with deliveries expected to accelerate from late this year and throughout next year.
