Aiken's Tribute Parkway, a long-awaited road project, has seen the opening of new hotel options including a Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites by Hilton. This new development sits at the junction of Oak Grove Road and Whiskey Road, aiming to divert traffic from the congested Whiskey Road. Phase One of the Tribute Parkway construction is on schedule for completion around Labor Day, involving a $15 million investment in new intersections and traffic circles.
The completion of Phase One of the Tribute Parkway has unlocked significant development opportunities. Aiken City Council has already approved three new developments, Magnolia Run Reserve, Summerall, and Clifton Place, all with access to the parkway. These projects include extensive residential housing and senior living facilities, signaling a new era of growth for the area.
Further phases of the Tribute Parkway project are planned, with Phase Two extending the road towards Powderhouse Road and Old Powderhouse Road, featuring a new roundabout. This section is slated to go out for bids by year-end, with construction starting in early 2027. The parkway is named in honor of fallen law enforcement officers, with specific roundabouts designated for Master Public Safety Officer Scotty Richardson and Master Cpl. Sandy Rogers.
