C.H. Robinson AI Supercharges Supply Chains Globally

C.H. Robinson has significantly expanded its Lean AI capabilities with new agents now operational in ocean shipping, air freight, and customs brokerage. These advancements aim to provide customers with greater speed, precision, and agility in their supply chains, even for highly complex tasks requiring multiple AI agents working together.

Key innovations include AI-driven price quoting for air and ocean cargo, which now takes minutes instead of days. This system has already generated over 80,000 quotes for more than 3,600 clients. AI is also managing a large volume of ocean booking requests weekly and assisting with the intricate document processing for U.S. Customs clearance.

The AI for customs has reduced processing time by 23%, allowing human brokers to concentrate on validation and compliance. The company's AI agents, operating on trillions of data points and unique customer contexts, are extending these benefits globally. AI price quoting for less-than-container-load ocean freight began in 2025, with expanded services now covering full-container loads, air cargo, and serving numerous international markets.

Ocean booking AI agents launched in China in August and are expected to be live globally by Q1 2027. Previously, automation for booking requests had achieved only about 5% over a decade. This new agentic AI is set to drastically improve that metric by handling numerous supplier bookings that were previously manual.

This strategic deployment of Lean AI is designed to widen C.H. Robinson's competitive advantage in global forwarding, building upon a foundation of advanced AI developed since 2023. The company continues to leverage its human insight and AI integration to create smarter, faster, and more sustainable supply chains.
