By 2030, Artificial Intelligence is poised to contribute more than $500 billion to India's economy, according to a joint study by IBM and IndiaAI. This projection positions India as a dynamic AI-driven economy, with 73% of executives believing the nation will be a leading AI power.
Despite this potential, a significant "inflection gap" is evident, with 72% of Indian organizations acknowledging they trail global competitors in AI adoption. Currently, only 15% of companies are scaling AI through cross-functional investments, leaving the majority in the pilot stage.
Key challenges hindering AI readiness include a lack of accessible cloud infrastructure (cited by 77% of respondents) and uneven data quality (57%). Furthermore, a growing skills gap means only about 30% of employees possess the required AI literacy, a figure that needs to rise substantially to meet future demands.
