Ahmedabad Water Plant Shut Down for Upgrades

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) initiated a shutdown of its Jaspur water treatment plant on Monday due to technical reasons. This temporary closure is facilitating crucial upgrades to the city's water supply infrastructure. During this period, the AMC's water project department is undertaking two significant projects.
In the Vejalpur ward, a problematic water pipeline on Bootbhavani Temple Road is being replaced with a new ductile iron (DI) pipeline. This replacement aims to permanently resolve frequent leakage issues and will be connected to the existing main water pipeline.
Simultaneously, in the Ranip ward, the civic body is connecting a newly laid feeder line to the existing 1,000-mm diameter mild steel (MS) trunk main. This connection is essential for the new water distribution station at New Ranip TP 66/A to receive water supply from the Jaspur plant.
