Africa's Minerals Fuel AI's Rise

South African billionaire Patrice Motsepe, also president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), sees Africa as pivotal to the AI revolution. Motsepe stresses the urgent need for Africa to industrialize, advocating for processing and refining minerals rather than solely exporting raw materials. He calls for attractive legal, fiscal, and monetary policies to draw investment.

The businessman also champions African innovation, drawing parallels with Silicon Valley's ecosystem. He believes that investing in STEM education and startups will foster African-based technological companies. Motsepe points to Rwanda's successful use of drones for medical delivery as an example of scalable African innovation.

With the world's second-largest young population, Africa has immense potential. Motsepe urges Africans to lead investment in the continent, building capital markets and creating employment opportunities. He sees a future where Africa is not just a source of raw materials but a center of global economic activity.
