AeroVironment, Inc. has announced a significant collaboration with Ubiqconn Technology Inc. through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on June 11, 2026. This agreement is set to advance uncrewed systems and mission management capabilities, directly supporting Taiwan's defense modernization efforts and its indigenous unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) program.
The collaboration establishes a shared vision for developing and integrating a common controller capability. This initiative is based on AeroVironment's Tomahawk Common Control Ecosystem, designed to meet the requirements of the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense (MND). The program aims for the procurement of tens of thousands of domestically produced drones.
AeroVironment will supply a fully integrated common controller system, including access to Kinesis software and the KxM module. Additionally, comprehensive training and technical support will be provided to Ubiqconn. This will enable demonstrations and facilitate future integration activities, crucial for the success of Taiwan's ambitious drone procurement plans.
