Middle East War Halts India's Acrylic Fiber Production
24 Mar
Summary
- Acrylic fiber plant in Uttar Pradesh temporarily shut down since March 24.
- Logistics disruption from the Middle East war delayed raw materials by 15-20 days.
- Reopening depends on the arrival of raw material shipments.

Pasupati Acrylon announced the temporary closure of its acrylic fiber manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh, India. This shutdown, which began on March 24, 2026, is a direct consequence of logistics disruptions stemming from the war in the Middle East. The conflict has caused substantial delays, estimated at 15 to 20 days, in the shipment of essential raw materials required for production.
The company has indicated that the plant's operational status is now entirely dependent on the arrival of the delayed vessel carrying these raw materials. Situated in Thakurdwara, Moradabad district, the facility has a production capacity of 45,000 MT for acrylic fiber, tow, and tops, and operates in technical collaboration with Italy's SNIA BPD.
