Accenture Sees Revenue Dip Amid Client Caution
19 Mar
Summary
- Accenture forecasts Q3 revenue below estimates due to economic uncertainty.
- Clients are favoring cost control over large IT transformations.
- Second-quarter revenue rose 8% to $18.04 billion, exceeding expectations.

Accenture is forecasting its third-quarter revenue to come in below market estimates, largely due to clients exercising caution with spending on major IT transformation projects amidst economic uncertainty. Shares experienced a decline in pre-market trading following the announcement.
The company has observed a trend where clients are delaying large-scale digital transformation initiatives. Instead, there is a preference for short-term cost control measures and immediate operational efficiencies over comprehensive system overhauls.
For the fiscal third quarter, Accenture projects revenue to be between $18.35 billion and $19.00 billion. The midpoint of this range is slightly lower than the $18.72 billion average estimate from analysts. This forecast comes after the company reported second-quarter revenue of $18.04 billion, an 8% increase that exceeded the estimated $17.84 billion.
Accenture's second-quarter performance also included a profit of $2.93 per share, up from $2.82 per share in the prior year's comparable quarter. Furthermore, new bookings, which serve as an indicator of future revenue, saw a 6% rise, reaching $22.1 billion during the second quarter.
