Accenture is set to acquire Ookla, the renowned owner of Speedtest and Downdetector, in a substantial cash transaction valued at $1.2 billion. This acquisition marks a significant move by Accenture to bolster its services for communications providers and other enterprise clients.
Through this integration, Accenture intends to enhance its offerings for optimizing mission-critical Wi-Fi and 5G networks. Ookla's platform, which includes tools like Ekahau for network design and RootMetrics for performance monitoring, will provide valuable data. This data will be used to ensure the resilience of AI infrastructure, fortify fraud prevention in banking, and optimize retail traffic.
Ookla reports that its services process approximately 250 million consumer-initiated tests monthly and employs around 430 individuals. The company generated $230.7 million in revenue and $76.1 million in net income in 2025. Ziff Davis, the previous owner, had purchased Ookla in 2014 for $15 million. The transaction is expected to finalize in the coming months.
