New Homes Approved Despite Flooding Fears
31 Jul
Summary
- 80 new homes planned for an estate near a village.
- Residents and parish council raised flooding and traffic concerns.
- Councillors recommended approval for the housing development.

West Northamptonshire Council is poised to approve plans for 80 new homes on an estate adjacent to Pineham Village. The proposed development, submitted by Kislingbury Farm LLP, is located off Upton Valley Way North. Despite significant opposition, including approximately 100 objections from residents and the Hunsbury Meadows Parish Council, councillors have been recommended to grant permission.
Concerns raised by objectors primarily focus on the potential for increased flooding and traffic congestion in the area. The Hunsbury Meadow Parish Council has formally objected, highlighting these issues along with the potential strain on local infrastructure. The new development will feature a variety of housing, from two-bed to five-bed properties, including apartments. A key component of the plan is the inclusion of 18 affordable homes, constituting 22.5% of the total.
The decision is anticipated during a council meeting scheduled for August 6th. This development represents a significant addition to the approximately 559 homes already present in the Pineham Village estate, situated west of Hunsbury.
