Ford Maverick 2027: Price Cuts & New Engine Strategy
28 Aug
Summary
- 2027 Maverick base price stays $29,990, hybrid-only for XL and Lariat.
- Higher-end trims like Lobo and Tremor see significant price reductions.
- EcoBoost entry point shifts to XLT AWD, increasing cost for that engine.

Ford is implementing significant changes to the 2027 Maverick lineup, aiming for clearer distinctions between its models and improved affordability for certain trims. The subcompact pickup's base price is expected to hold steady at $29,990.
For 2027, the XL and Lariat trims will exclusively offer the hybrid powertrain. This ensures the most fuel-efficient Maverick remains accessible at the current entry-level price point.
Buyers desiring the more powerful 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine will now find their entry point at the XLT AWD trim, with an expected starting price of $32,890. This effectively raises the cost for those who prefer the turbocharged option.
Further down the lineup, Ford is reportedly implementing notable price reductions on higher-end models. The Lobo trim is expected to see a price cut of $3,775, starting around $34,000. The Lobo High is also anticipated to drop to $39,000.
The off-road-oriented Tremor trim is set to become more affordable as well, with a reported price reduction of $3,490, bringing its starting price to $39,000. This positions the Tremor and Lobo High at the same price point.
These adjustments suggest Ford's strategy to make the specialty Lobo and Tremor trims more attainable, while keeping the entry-level hybrid attractive and defining the XLT as the starting point for EcoBoost enthusiasts. Ford has not yet officially confirmed these pricing changes.
