The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift launches today, September 5, in India, bringing substantial updates. Revisions include updated exterior styling and interior features, alongside a new petrol engine and advanced driver-assistance technology. The facelift is expected to retain its familiar silhouette but feature a new grille, reshaped bumpers, and updated lighting.
Key technological additions include Level 1 ADAS, potentially making it one of India's most affordable hatchbacks with such features, reserved for the top Alpha (O) variant. Inside, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, and ventilated front seats are anticipated.
A major mechanical change is the introduction of Maruti Suzuki's 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine, also found in the Swift and Dzire, offering around 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. This new engine aims to improve fuel efficiency. A significant addition is the expected factory-fitted CNG-AMT version, combining CNG's low running costs with automatic transmission convenience, possibly on Delta and Zeta variants.
The current Baleno starts at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and a slight price increase is expected for the facelifted model, especially for variants with upgraded features and safety packages.
