- 15 companies see shareholder lock-ins end this week.
- CMPDI has biggest share with ₹9,512 crore in eligible shares.

This week, Dalal Street anticipates a substantial increase in equity supply as shareholder lock-in periods for 15 companies conclude. These expirations will introduce over ₹16,000 crore in shares eligible for trading. Today, October 5, 2026, marks the end of lock-ins for ten companies, including ESDS Software Solutions and Deepa Jewellers.
Among the companies, Coal India's subsidiary, Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), stands out with the largest value of shares becoming tradable. Its six-month lock-in ends on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, making 464 million shares, or 65% of its equity, available. These shares are valued at ₹9,512 crore, based on Thursday's closing price.
ESDS Software Solutions is another prominent company whose lock-in ends today, October 5, 2026. This will free up 25 million shares, representing 2.5% of its outstanding equity. Despite delivering significant returns post-listing, the stock has recently experienced lower circuits after disclosing its first quarterly results.
Notably, eight out of the 15 companies are currently trading below their issue price, and eight others are trading at least 20% below their post-listing highs. This situation presents a dynamic trading environment for investors as new supply enters the market.
