In the summer of 2025, 24-year-old Megan Lewis launched her own company, Dreamland Nannies, to provide a unique service for families visiting theme parks. Lewis, who has cared for over 100 families since her freshman year of college, found a way to combine her passion for kids and theme parks into a thriving business.
Through Dreamland Nannies, Lewis offers families the option to book a nanny to join them in the parks, assisting with strollers, diaper changes, mobile orders, and staying with children who are not tall enough for certain rides. Alternatively, parents can hire a nanny to focus solely on the kids while they enjoy the parks on their own. The company also provides hotel care, from daytime play sessions to evening date nights, catering to children as young as four weeks old through teens up to 16.
Since launching, Lewis has built a team of 14 nannies, each of whom is background-checked, CPR- and AED-certified, and holds a Disney annual pass. The company charges $35 per hour for one child, with a three-hour minimum, and nannies are paid between $20 and $30 per hour, depending on the number of children in their care.
While starting a business has its challenges, Lewis credits her father, a fellow entrepreneur, with guiding her through the early stages. Social media has also been key in spreading the word and building her clientele, with families coming from as far as London and Spain to utilize Dreamland Nannies' services.
