Summary
- Scout Space secured $18 million in Series A funding.
- Funding will support new missions and expand manufacturing capacity.
- Company develops sensors and software for tracking objects in orbit.

Scout Space, a startup focused on space domain awareness technologies, announced the closure of an $18 million Series A funding round on May 6, 2026. The investment was spearheaded by Washington Harbour Partners, with additional contributions from various entities including Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation and Noblis Ventures.
This influx of capital is earmarked for supporting upcoming missions and significantly expanding the company's manufacturing capacity. A key initiative includes the development of a new 2,600-square-foot facility located in Northern Virginia.
Founded in 2019, Scout Space develops sophisticated sensors and software. These technologies are designed to detect, track, and characterize objects in orbit by integrating optical payloads with onboard data processing and autonomous software. This allows spacecraft to analyze their surrounding environment effectively.
The company's strategy involves supplying space domain awareness sensors and software for integration onto various spacecraft, rather than constructing standalone satellites. Scout is collaborating with Blue Origin to integrate its Owl sensor onto the Blue Ring spacecraft and has also secured defense contracts with the U.S. Space Force.
