Ravi Pandit, the visionary co-founder and chairman of KPIT Technologies, passed away on Friday morning at the age of 75 after a brief illness. Pandit, a gold-medallist Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of MIT's Sloan School of Management, was a pivotal figure in the advancement of mobility technology.
His career, spanning over three decades, was marked by significant contributions to sustainability initiatives both in India and internationally. He also played a crucial role in professional services through his chairmanship of Kirtane & Pandit Chartered Accountants.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Pandit was deeply involved in various civic, educational, and policy institutions. He co-founded organizations like the Pune International Centre and Janwani, supported the Centre for Sustainable Development, and served as president of Jnana Prabodhini.
Pandit's extensive leadership roles included board memberships at Thermax Ltd and the World Resources Institute India. He also chaired the Research Council at the Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute and was the sole private-sector member of the empowered group for the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
