Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works (KMEW) has significantly expanded its operational capacity by acquiring approximately 15 acres of prime waterfront land in Saphale, Palghar, Maharashtra. An option for an additional 5-acre expansion is also included.
This acquisition, managed through KMEW's subsidiary Knowledge Shipyard, marks a crucial step in the company's strategic shift towards becoming a leading technology-driven and sustainable shipbuilding enterprise. It follows KMEW's recent venture into commercial shipbuilding.
The acquired site offers substantial marine advantages, including approximately 188 meters of waterfront access, a natural slipway with a ~6-meter high-tide draft, and a robust river width suitable for efficient vessel movement.
Its location along the Vaitarna River, coupled with its proximity to the future Vadhvan Port, ensures strong multimodal connectivity, further enhancing its strategic value for future maritime infrastructure development.
