India's First Made-in-India Airbus C295 Rolls Out

The C295 programme is part of a 2021 agreement with Spain to procure 56 military transport aircraft for Rs 21,935 crore. Under this agreement, 16 aircraft will be supplied directly from Airbus's Spanish facility, while the remaining 40 will be manufactured and assembled in India.
This project is expected to bolster India's aerospace manufacturing ecosystem, with approximately 70% of the aircraft's components being sourced locally. The C295 is a versatile aircraft capable of carrying various payloads and operating from short, unprepared airstrips.
