Summary
- APSEZ expands into Europe via marine arm Astro Offshore.
- Partnership with Oceaneering targets underwater projects.
- New vessel Astro Atlas enhances deep-sea capabilities.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has strategically entered the European offshore services market through its marine arm, Astro Offshore. This significant overseas expansion is a partnership with US-based Oceaneering International Inc., focusing on underwater and deep-sea projects within Europe. The initiative aims to diversify APSEZ's global marine exposure and reduce concentration risks.
This development follows APSEZ's evaluation of European opportunities, driven by recent disruptions in West Asia. The collaboration will leverage Astro Offshore's fleet with Oceaneering's deepwater engineering expertise. Key services will include underwater construction, cable laying, and pipeline installation.
To support this expansion, Astro Offshore has acquired a new vessel, the Energy Savanah, to be renamed Astro Atlas. This 2021-built vessel is equipped for deep-sea operations, capable of working at depths exceeding 3,000 meters. The addition of Astro Atlas significantly enhances APSEZ's offshore operational capabilities.
APSEZ has been aggressively scaling its marine business as part of a broader diversification strategy. The marine business revenue saw a substantial 134% year-on-year growth to ₹2,681 crore in FY26, with the fleet increasing to 136 vessels. The company plans to expand its marine fleet to approximately 200 vessels by 2031 and invest up to ₹13,000 crore in global offshore and marine infrastructure.
