Veteran actor Jerry Adler, who was known for his roles in acclaimed TV shows such as 'The Sopranos', 'The Good Wife', and 'Rescue Me', has passed away at the age of 96. Adler's friend, Frank J. Reilly, confirmed his death, stating that the actor had an impressive career, appearing in numerous iconic roles.

In 'The Sopranos', Adler notably portrayed the character of Hesh Rabkin, a Jewish associate of Tony Soprano, whose wisdom helped guide the mafia boss. He also played the crude name partner Howard Lyman in 'The Good Wife' and its spinoff 'The Good Fight', as well as recurring as New York Fire Department deputy chief Sidney Feinberg in 'Rescue Me'.

Prior to his acting career, Adler had an extensive background in theater, working as a stage manager and director on over 50 Broadway productions, including the original 1956 production of 'My Fair Lady' starring Julie Andrews. He only began acting in his 60s, transitioning from his behind-the-scenes work in the industry.
