TIFF Unveils 6 World Premieres in Primetime TV Lineup

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced its television lineup for this year's festival, set to take place from September 4th to September 14th, 2025. The Primetime program, which celebrates its 10th anniversary, will feature 10 new series, with 6 of them having their world premieres at TIFF.

Among the world premieres is "The Lowdown," a Tulsa-set series for FX that stars Ethan Hawke, who also serves as an executive producer. The series was created by Sterlin Harjo, co-creator of the FX series "Reservation Dogs." Another highly anticipated world premiere is "Black Rabbit," a Netflix miniseries starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman. The series was created by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman, who previously collaborated on the 2024 crime film "The Order."

Last year, TIFF's Primetime program hosted the Canadian premiere of Alfonso Cuarón's thriller miniseries "Disclaimer" for Apple TV+, which went on to receive Emmy nominations. In 2022, the fifth season of "The Handmaid's Tale" had its world premiere at the festival.

The 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival promises to be an exciting one, with a diverse lineup of television series that showcase the growing importance of episodic and serialized storytelling in the entertainment industry.
