1 Aug
Summary
- Take-Two unhappy with BioShock game development, orders revamp
- Studio head ousted, creative director reassigned amid efficiency push
- Company committed to delivering a "great" BioShock game

In a move to address issues with the highly anticipated next installment of the BioShock franchise, Take-Two Interactive has initiated a major overhaul of the game's development. According to sources familiar with the situation, the new BioShock, being produced by Cloud Chamber, recently failed a review by executives at 2K Games, Take-Two's publishing subsidiary.
The narrative was identified as a particular area of concern, and the company has committed to revamping it in the coming months. As a result of the review, 2K Games has ousted the studio head, Kelley Gilmore, and moved the creative director, Hogarth de la Plante, to a publishing role.
In a recent all-hands meeting, Cloud Chamber staff were informed that the company needs to become more agile and efficient, leading to worries that layoffs may follow. However, 2K Games has stated that it is "fully committed to ensuring we deliver a BioShock game that exceeds the lofty expectations of our fans."
