Sotomayor's 'Just Shine!' Children's Book Narrated by Gloria Estefan

In an exciting collaboration, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's new children's book 'Just Shine! How to Be a Better You' will feature narration by renowned singer Gloria Estefan. The book, which is set to be published on September 9th, 2025, follows the story of a young girl in Puerto Rico who has the remarkable ability to make those around her shine.

Sotomayor, 71, has drawn inspiration for the book from her late mother, Celina Báez, who passed away in 2021 at the age of 94. The story aims to "help readers find their own inner glow -- and recognize that glow in those around them," according to the official synopsis.

Estefan, 67, will lend her iconic voice to narrate both the English and Spanish versions of the book, while Sotomayor will provide an author's note. The vibrant illustrations are created by Jacqueline Alcántara, adding to the book's captivating visual appeal.

'Just Shine!' is the latest in Sotomayor's series of children's books, which also includes 'Just Help! How to Build a Better World,' inspired by her mother's nursing career in New York City. The Justice's memoir, 'My Beloved World,' was published in 2013.
